Sweet treats go mobile, Candlelight Processional Goes Hawaiian, EPCOT Going Solar again, Flying gets cooler, Minnie gets to Work, and which way is Disney going to roll?,

Hello and welcome to the October 30th edition of “Guest Room” on ENN, the Ears News Network, bringing you Disney news you won’t believe…..and probably shouldn’t. Happy Halloween and don’t let the mask fool you. It’s me your host, Parker Byrd.

Long time park fans probably remember that on November 16th of 2004, fans arriving at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World were greeted with the shocking sight of Cinderella’s Castle festooned with….well…toilet paper. As it turned out, it was not a belated mischief night prank, but one perpetrated by none other than Experiment 626, aka “Stitch”. His misdeeds were to celebrate the opening of Stitch’s Great Escape and immersive attraction in the Tomorrowland section of the Magic Kingdom.

While the vandalism lasted only a day, the attraction is approaching 11 years old, 10 years older than it should be if you ask some fans. And rumor has it that Disney plans to roll out the white carpet as it were and celebrate that birthday by once again letting Stitch TP the castle. In fact, some cast members have already reported that industrial sized rolls of custom made, 200-ply toilet paper have been seen in a backstage warehouse.

But before your inner miscreant gets all giddy at the site of seeing such an alien encounter, our sources in Theme Park Operations tell us that logistics may wipe the celebration from the calendar, as an intense disagreement has broken out as to whether the paper should be spun off from over or under the roll.
Parker: In tech news, Disney recently released a new game for mobile devices. Our Tech reporter Erin Dole has more….Erin…

Erin:  Thanks Parker! This new Disney app is called the “Disney Dream Treats – Match Sweets”. This sweet app takes you across the globe to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris.

You can create an avatar with your picture or just use one of the heads of random guests. Many Disney characters will join you through your journey as you serve guests and take wrappers off of some treats. These characters will give you sweet and powerful power-ups to use on different levels.

You can always change your outfit at the gift shop. When you move from one park to the next park you will get a souvenir with the character that helped you.

Now this app is very fun. I personally love to play it. And, when you complete a level you will hear music that is absolutely Fantasmic!

Parker: What did you say?

Erin: Fantasmic!

Parker: Spell it

Erin: F. A. N. T. A. S. M. I. C.

Parker: K. E. Y. M. O. U. S. E.

Erin: Really Parker?

Parker: Erin Dole…everybody, ENN Tech Reporter.
With the passing of Halloween, the Disney Parks have, or will shortly make their miraculously transformation into Christmas Wonderlands. On Episode 10, we told you how one of the great Holiday traditions, the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights is making its last appearance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios this year, leading to a lot of last minute trips to the World to see it one more time.

Happily, the future does not seem in doubt for another fan favorite Holiday tradition, EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional. The event, held in the American Gardens Theatre, which is part of the American Pavillion area in EPCOT’s World Showcase, features a celebrity narrator telling the story of Christmas while accompanied by a huge choir and orchestra.

This year’s event will run from November 27th through December 30th and will feature a dozen different celebrity narrators. Veteran narrators include Gary Sinise, Neil Patrick Harris, Whoopi Goldberg, Joe Morton, Ana Gasteyer, Edward James Olmos, Blair Underwood and Amy Grant. New this year are talk show host Meredith Vieira, actress America Ferrera who starred in the TV show Ugly Betty, and actress Chandra Wilson who plays Dr. Miranda Bailey in Grey’s Anatomy,. Rounding out the list is actor Daniel Dae Kim, formerly from the show Lost. Currently he can be seen on Hawaii Five-0 where he plays Detective Lt. Chin Ho Ho…Ho…Kelly.

Sorry I just had to do it. You see, there is a little clause in my contract.

Back after this.

It’s been a fun, but a long day in the theme parks. You are exhausted! You know your kids are exhausted but they don’t.

What if you could end your day in a place with soft light and a comfy chair? Where your kids minds are filled with images of floating through the clouds,

…….traversing huge fields,

…….skipping the waves of the placid sea,

…….floating down a crystal clear river,

…….and getting an eagle eye view of snowcapped peaks.

Add a quiet lullaby and before you know it you and your family will be….

SNOARIN..  A new nighttime attraction coming this summer to the land pavilion of Epcot. Cookies and warm milk sold separately.

PARKER:
Welcome back to ENN, the Ears News Network. Work has begun on a new solar farm near EPCOT. The nearly 20 acre facility will be filled with solar panels and will be located near the intersection of World Drive and EPCOT Center Drive, just a stone’s throw from the EPCOT parking lot. Though we don’t recommend throwing stones at solar panels.

To allow the farm to blend in the panels will be arranged in a “Disney-inspired” design. While there is no indication as to what that design will be, some fans have speculated that Olaf would be a fun, yet highly ironic choice.

The solar farm is a partnership between the Reedy Creek Improvement District and Duke Energy. When it is fully operational it is expected to provide nearly 5-megawatts of electricity! Well, except between 2 and 5pm on most summer days.
The airline WestJet recently released a video showing one of their 737s being transformed into a Frozen-theme plane. The exterior shows Olaf sunning on the beach by the sea near the nose of the plane. That fades into ice blue and snowflakes as we approach the tail of the plane which features Anna and Elsa.

Inside the plane the same pattern is followed with overhead bins and seat backs adorned with sun flowers toward the front, fall colors in the middle and icy motifs toward the rear.

This is WestJet’s second Disney painted plane. There first one, Magic Plane, featured Mickey from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

However, the Frozen-themed plane will see much less use than the Magic Plane as it can only be operated in warmer clients during the summer months. This is due to the newly themed plane being highly difficult to de-ice.
And finally Walt Disney World Cast Member Adrian Raab from Clermont, FL, unexpectedly found himself in a lot of trouble following an incident during his shift at the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party on October 22nd. Adrian was passing out candy to guests. Now being a stickler for quality, if Adrian spotted a piece of candy that was oddly shaped, or not quite tightly wrapped, he would remove it from the candy barrel and put it into a well worn out reusable sack he kept on the ground near him.

The guests that night had an incredible collective sweet tooth, and soon Adrian’s barrel was beginning to run out of candy. Much to his relief, he soon spotted his supervisor coming toward him with a fresh supply. Upon arrival, his supervisor asked him where his “non-show worthy candy” was. Adrian gestured behind him and said “It’s in the old bag”, an unfortunate choice words. Because unbeknownst to Adrian, but clearly seen by his Supervisor, the sack of misfit sweets, had just been emptied by a grandmother with a clear case of the munchies.
